Five models cover frequencies from 10 Hz to 300 kHz, combining flexible component characterization with production-ready measurement and sorting functions
【TAIPEI, Taiwan, October 29, 2026】 GW Instek announces the LCR-7000 Series Precision LCR Meters, a new generation of instruments designed to make passive-component measurement easier to configure, interpret and integrate into daily engineering workflows. Built around a five-inch color touchscreen, the series introduces dual-trace frequency sweep visualization while retaining the essential measurement capabilities of the LCR-6000 Series, which it is designed to replace.
Its combination of measurement functions and external interfaces addresses applications from research and development to engineering evaluation, incoming quality control and production sorting.
The LCR-7000 Series consists of five models: LCR-7002, LCR-7020, LCR-7100, LCR-7200 and LCR-7300. Each begins at a test frequency of 10 Hz, with maximum frequencies of 2 kHz, 20 kHz, 100 kHz, 200 kHz and 300 kHz, respectively.
Within each model's supported range, the test frequency is continuously adjustable rather than restricted to a limited selection of preset points. Engineers can therefore choose the frequency required for a particular component or test condition, helping them assess electrical behavior under more representative conditions.

Technical Advantages | 0.05% Basic Accuracy and Dual-Trace Frequency Sweep Enhance Measurement Efficiency
Measurement performance builds on the established platform. The LCR-7000 supports 16 combinations of primary and secondary measurement parameters, including configurations for capacitance, inductance, impedance and resistance.
Two additional monitoring parameters can be selected, allowing up to four related measurement results to appear simultaneously on the touchscreen. The MEAS screen combines configuration information and measured values, while the GO/NOGO display emphasizes results and provides clear PASS/FAIL judgments.
The instrument offers a basic accuracy of 0.05% in medium and slow measurement modes. For applications emphasizing throughput, its fast mode provides a minimum measurement time of 25 ms, with a specified basic accuracy of 0.1%. These operating characteristics let users select an appropriate balance between speed and measurement accuracy.
Fixture compensation is also designed to support repeatable work. Test leads and fixtures can introduce parasitic impedance that affects measured values, particularly when test conditions change.
The LCR-7000 provides open- and short-circuit compensation with full-frequency-range and spot-frequency zeroing options. For frequency-dependent characterization, the series adds a dual-trace sweep function that plots the selected measurement parameters against frequency.
A separate 10-step list test allows measurement conditions to be defined according to frequency, test voltage or test current, helping engineers compare component behavior at different test points.
Application Functions | Support for ALC and DC Bias Meets Diverse Component Verification Needs
The series includes additional functions for different passive-component types. Automatic Level Control (ALC) supports components such as multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) that require a controlled test voltage.
An adjustable internal DC bias of ±5 V enables evaluation of capacitive characteristics under combined AC and DC conditions; an optional external ±45 V DC bias adapter extends available bias conditions. For inductive components, DC resistance (DCR) measurement and adjustable test current support characterization, while an optional ±2.5 A external bias current adapter accommodates additional test requirements.
In addition, the Auto LCZ function can identify the general characteristics of a connected component and select suitable parameters for displaying its measurement results, reducing operational burden before measurement.
System Expansion and Compatible Design | Multi-BIN Sorting Support and LCR-6000 Command Compatibility
For documentation and recurring test setups, the LCR-7000 stores ten front-panel configurations and up to 10,000 measurement records internally. A USB host port supports exporting recorded data and saving screen captures.
Standard RS-232C, LAN, USB Type-C device interfaces and Handler interface provide pathways for remote control and automated test environments, supporting nine BIN categories plus one auxiliary BIN output for connection to compatible sorting equipment; a dedicated PC application is also provided for measurement recording and analysis.
For existing LCR-6000 users, GW Instek has maintained command compatibility to help transition with less software modification burden. A compact chassis and optional 19-inch 2U rack-mount kit provide installation flexibility for both benchtop labs and integrated production lines.
Comprehensive Protection | Delivering Reliable Measurement Tools from R&D to Quality Control
With this product update, GW Instek continues to deliver practical test and measurement solutions from component R&D, process inspection, to quality control, assisting engineering and QA teams in establishing repeatable inspection procedures.
