The PEL-2000B Series includes 2 types of mainframes and 4 types of load modules to fulfill users’ requirements in a flexible manner. With the flexible combination of mainframes and modules, users are able to tailor a test system based on the required channel number and the Max. Load Power, Voltage and Current of each channel in the project. Since multiple loads can be connected in parallel to provide a higher-power load, the flexibility significantly reduces the investments of various loads for different power projects.
PEL-2004B is a 4-slot mainframe with a master control unit to hold 4 load modules, while PEL-2002B is a 2-slot mainframe with a master control unit to hold 2 load modules. For the maximum load power, each load module of the PEL-2004B has a load power of 350W. With the four load module configuration of PEL-2004B, the PEL-2000B Series is able to provide a maximum load power of 1.4kVA. Each load module can either be one channel or two channels.
For PEL-2004B with the configuration of four load modules and two channels for each load module, the PEL-2000B Series is able to provide the maximum eight outputs for the test of power supplies. This product is designed to meet the test requirements of high-speed semiconductor devices in the market today. As the power supply units, such as switching power supplies, DC-DC converters, and batteries that drive the semiconductor circuits must accommodate the high-speed operations of devices, hence, the power supply design, quality inspection and characteristic verification using high-speed electronic loads has become necessary.
The new PEL-2000B Series is fully compatible with the functions and specifications of the PEL-2000A Series; thus, supports the old and new load modules (PEL-20xxA/PEL-20xxB), and can be mixed for applications. In addition the old mainframe (PEL-2004A/PEL-2002A) can also support the old and new load modules (PEL-20xxA/PEL-20xxB) after the firmware is upgraded to 3.xx (BF version), and can be mixed for applications.
Except the model name change, the standard interfaces are different between those two series. The PEL-2000B Series provides USB Host/Device, RS-232/RS485 (RJ45 type), LAN interface as standard and optional GPIB for external control and system configuration.
As multiple loads in the same mainframe can be connected in parallel to perform both static and dynamic tests, the flexible configuration of mainframes and load modules makes PEL-2000B Series a very cost-effective tool for the tests of power supplies in a broad power range.
