Legal Action Not Ruled Out

Good Will Instrument Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “GW Instek”) expresses deep regret regarding our competitor Chroma ATE Inc.’s actions of September 1, 2025, when it issued accusations through the media without any confirmation through judicial proceedings. Such conduct exceeds the norms of business competition ethics. GW Instek hereby makes this formal statement to clarify the facts and to safeguard the Company’s reputation and rights.

First, GW Instek must solemnly state that its ATS-8000 Automatic Test System, whether in software design or hardware architecture, has been independently developed by GW Instek’s research and development team. The product does not employ, copy, or infringe upon any other party’s technology or intellectual property. If Chroma ATE Inc. truly intends to pursue this matter through judicial proceedings, then it should await the impartial judgment of the courts. Yet, prior to any judicial determination, Chroma has issued a press release containing accusations through the media, with the apparent intent to mislead the public and distort market perception. This has already caused damage to GW Instek’s business reputation. GW Instek will therefore pursue all appropriate legal remedies against Chroma ATE Inc.

Second, after thorough verification, GW Instek has confirmed that Chroma’s official website and its publicly available product information contain no listing of any product or service under the model designation “ATS 8000” or “ATS-8000.” To assert rights over a product name that is not identifiable in the market and that is ambiguously defined calls into question both the legitimacy and the propriety of such claims. As for product user interfaces, GW Instek’s systems are designed with a high degree of flexibility and customization to meet specific customer needs, and there has been absolutely no act of plagiarism or imitation as alleged.

GW Instek has consistently focused on independent technological research, development, and innovation, with the mission of providing customers with lawful, efficient, and high-quality product solutions. We firmly respect the protection of intellectual property rights, but at the same time, we will resolutely defend our reputation and the rights of our customers, and we oppose any form of false accusation or unfair competition.

Instrument manufacturers should compete on the basis of products, quality, price (cost), and service, thereby benefiting customers. During this period, all of GW Instek’s business operations and product sales remain normal and unaffected by this incident.
